The Janík Motorsport team has announced its new driver for this season’s F4 CEZ Championship. The team will partner with 15-year-old David Gorčica from the Czech Republic, who is making the transition to the world of formula racing after a successful karting career.
David is excited about stepping up to Formula 4 and views it as a significant challenge. “It’s a big change for me, and I’m really looking forward to it. My goal this season is to adapt to the larger circuits and gradually improve my performance. I dream of racing in the GT category one day, and this is an excellent opportunity to move closer to that goal,” says David, who began his karting career at the age of nine.
Václav Janík, owner of Janík Motorsport, shared his enthusiasm about his arrival: “David is a fantastic addition to our team. He has proven himself to be a major talent in karting, and we’re excited to support him as he transitions to Formula 4. We believe he has a bright future ahead of him.”
David quickly established himself as a top competitor in the Easykart 60 category at an early age. After three seasons, he progressed to Easykart 100, earning third place in the Czech Championship and seventh in the Italian Championship, where he was the highest-ranked foreign driver. In 2022, David joined the factory team MS Kart and moved into the OK Junior category, achieving remarkable results, including fifth place in the German Championship and a race victory in Mülsen.
In 2024, he made his debut in the KZ2 category. The highlight of his year was competing in the prestigious WSK Final Cup in Lonato and Cremona, Italy, where he reached the final and ranked among the world’s top talents.
