From F4 CEZ to Italian Circuits: Ischer and Francot’s new challenges

In 2023, Swiss driver Ethan Ischer and Dutch racer Reno Francot showcased their talents in the inaugural F4 CEZ season. Ischer clinched the championship title, narrowly edging out his Jenzer Motorsport teammate Francot, who finished as the vice-champion. Their performances set the stage for their participation in the highly competitive 2024 Italian F4 Championship. So, how did their season in this series go?

Building on their success in F4 CEZ, both Ischer and Francot joined the 2024 Italian F4 Championship with Jenzer Motorsport. The Italian F4 series is renowned for its deep pool of emerging talent, providing a significant step up in competition.

Throughout the 2024 season, Ischer and Francot faced stiff competition from drivers representing top teams like Prema Racing, US Racing, and Van Amersfoort Racing. Their performances were consistent, often finishing in the midfield, which contributed valuable points to Jenzer Motorsport’s overall standing.

In the final standings, Jenzer Motorsport accumulated 68 points, securing fourth place in the Constructors‘ Championship as the best team behind the top three winning teams. Francot ended the championship in 14th place, with his best race result being 4th at Paul Ricard. Ischer finished just behind Francot in the standings, despite missing the last round at Monza. Ischer’s best results were two 6th places at Misano and Vallelunga.

While the 2024 Italian F4 season did not yield the same level of success as their F4 CEZ campaign, both Ischer and Francot gained invaluable experience competing against a strong field of drivers. This experience is expected to be instrumental in their development as they aim to advance their racing careers.
