Sepp Renauer is preparing for his team’s return to F4 CEZ at Brno and Salzburgring. The Austrian team will field a Formula 4 car for Simon Schranz before fully committing to the F4 CEZ 2025 season.
Can you describe your team’s experience in the opening rounds of the F4 CEZ series at Balaton Park and Red Bull Ring?
In the first two events, we witnessed considerable progress in the still very young F4 CEZ racing series. This makes me personally proud, as I have been closely connected to Josef Krenek and the F4 CEZ since the planning phase!
Although you didn’t participate in the following rounds, you will be back again in F4 CEZ for the final two rounds at Brno and Salzburgring. What is the reason behind this break?
Our plan for this year was to take part in one or two F4 CEZ events at the end of the season with Simon Schranz. However, a few days before the start of the season, we were contacted by Luca Savo’s father, who strongly advocated for Luca to participate in the first two events. I didn’t feel confident about letting Luca participate unprepared, but Luca turned out to be a positive surprise and performed very well, given the circumstances!
You will field Simon Schranz for Brno and Salzburgring. Are you considering entering a second car?
The use of our second car at the Salzburgring is also possible, but it has not yet been confirmed.
What can you say about Simon Schranz? How much talent do you see in him?
Simon is an exceptional young driver. He is a very skilled SIM racer with only limited karting experience. We have been training him for a few months, and he is very talented, working hard on his performance, and making steady progress.
What are your expectations and goals for the team in the upcoming races at Brno and Salzburgring? Does Salzburgring hold a special place for your team, as it’s your home race?
For Simon, these two racing events are the final stage of our Formula Austria Young Driver Program race preparation. Since Simon has very little racing experience, we would be very pleased with midfield finishes in the last two races of this year. With full participation in the F4 CEZ 2025, our goals will, of course, be higher.
